Carnival Legend entered service on August 24, 2002 in Harwich, England. The theme for the ship, as designed by Joe farcus, is "great legends of the world." Room decor themes stretch from the age of mythology to the beginning of the jazz age in New Orleans. Legend belongs to the "Spirit class" of ships at the 88,500-tons, and 2,124-passengers. Its entertainment venues include the nine-deck-high Colossus Atrium, the perfect setting for a towering mural depicting the Colossus of Rhodes. The Camelot Pool depicts a medieval castle, while the Club Merlin Casino is themed with with damsels and knights. Meanwhile, the serpian hair of Medusa surrounds dancers in the Medusa's Lair dance club. Carnival provides these first photos of Carnival Legend, which began a year-round series of eight-day cruises from Ft. Lauderdale on November 10, 2002.
