The first in her class, Solstice's 122,000 tons, 1022 ft length and 121 ft. beam, makes her by far the largest vessel in Celebrity's fleet and among the top ten to fifteen largest cruise ships in the world today. She is certainly among the most beautiful and best appointed. Rated number one for the third straight year in the prestigious Conde Nast Reader's Poll, Celebrity has every intention of occupying that position for the foreseeable future with the innovative and exciting new features found on the Solstice.
Focusing heavily on health and wellness, Solstice has incorporated in her design an entire deck of suites, referred to as the Aqua Spa Class, that provides direct access to the Aqua Spa. This entire theme is even carried over to the cuisine in the Aqua Spa Café, which features a menu of lean cuts of meat, crip salads and seafood, all served in a relaxing country club atmosphere. Topside, undoubtedly Solstice's most innovative external feature is it's Lawn Club which can be seen in the aerial photograph below. Passengers will be invited to picnic with a basket of wine and cheese, play bocci ball or croquet, practice their putting or simply luxuriate in the sensation of true grass growing between their toes, all while sailing the oceans of the world. "Celebrity Leading Ladies," a group of women given the moniker by Celebrity and consisting of "a frequent cruiser, a travel agent, a travel writer and a cruise considerer" (whatever that is), contributed heavily to the cabin design. Among the items the ladies wished addressed was "more space." This request resulted in a 15% overall size increase in Solstice's cabins over those found on Celebrity's other ships.
Cabins Soltice, as do most new builds, consists overwhelmingly of veranda staterooms all of which, regardless of class or location, are a generous 194 sq. ft. Ocean View staterooms are 177 sq. ft. and interior staterooms are an exceptionally large 183 to 200 sq. ft. Next Page: Dining on the Solstice
