Wave Season 2014 Deals

All of recently released Wave Season offers from the major cruise lines compiled for you.

The first full work week of January every year is traditionally the beginning of wave season in the cruise industry. This is known as a time when the cruise lines offer their best values. In truth however, since this is one of the peak demand seasons for cruises, especially during record cold temperature winter seasons, the sales offers tend to to vary by cruise line; some offer real value while others are "run-of-the-mill". Here we present them side-by-side for your comparison.


Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival is offering up to $400 off on six day sailings and up to $200 off on five day sailings -per stateroom. For a limited time the cruise line is also offering free upgrades. A quick check of prices shows a six day cruise on Carnival Breeze starting at $319 for interior and $569 for balcony staterooms. The same price is offered on Carnival Freedom. Seven-day cruises start at $379 with balcony staterooms as low as $679 on Carnival glory sailing from Miami.


Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises is once again highlighting its very popular "123 Go!" special. When you book a cruise with Celebrity you get to choose one of the following three special offers:

1.       A Free Beverage Package. Receive a classic beverage package for two, including spirits, valued at $88 per day (two packages combined), with beverage gratuities included in the price.

2.       Free Gratuities. Receive prepaid gratuities for a value of up to $30 (two passengers combined) per day.

3.       Onboard Credit up to $300 per Stateroom. For 3 to 5 night sailings receive $100 in credit, for six to nine-night sailings receive $200 in credit, and for 10 nights or longer receive $300 a credit.


Cunard Line

Cunard is offering the "Royal Upgrade Celebration." The offer says, "Sail with the Queens during the Royal Upgrade Celebration and receive a host of benefits – free upgrades, free gratuities, and reduced deposit. Plus, enjoy a double upgrade on European voyages."


Disney Cruise Line

Disney is highlighting cruises from Port Canaveral, the official port for the Magic Kingdom in Orlando Florida (the port itself is about 50 miles away). The offer is good for the Disney Magic and the Disney Dream.

For the Disney Magic on three day Bahamas cruises sailing January 10, January 31, February 7, February 21 and February 28:

  • Inside cabins (category IGT) are $329 per person.
  • Oceanview category cabins (category OGT) are $399 per person
  • Veranda category cabins (category PGT) are $449 per person

Four night Bahamas sailings on the newer Disney Dream sailing on January 12 and January 26:

  • Inside cabins (category IGT) are $479 per person.
  • Oceanview category cabins (category OGT) are $499 per person
  • Veranda category cabins (category PGT) are $549 per person


Holland America Line

Holland America is shouting out "Enjoy incredible values when you book an oceanview stateroom or above on select June through December 2014 departures."

When you book a 2014 European cruise you receive a free Signature Beverage Package  with the value of $50 per person per day, for both adults in one stateroom. This applies to beverages priced up to seven dollars and includes wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, soda and coffee.

Book select 2014 Alaska cruises or Land and Sea Journeys and receive: Onboard spending credit of up to $400 per stateroom, depending on the length of the cruise and stateroom category.

Employee pricing includes seven-day Caribbean cruises on the brand-new MSC Divina from $399.50 per person.


Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian is promising deals on last minute cruises that include:

  • A seven-day Western Caribbean sailing on Norwegian Epic on February 2 or February 9 starting at $429 per person. A seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Norwegian Epic starts at $449 per person or an eight day trip is $499 per person.
  • An Eastern Caribbean cruise sailing February 15 or March 1 sailing on the brand-new Norwegian Breakaway from New York starts at $529 per person.


Princess Cruises

Princess now has a new and apparently permanent page for the "Top Cruise Deals of the Week" on its website. This week we see a four-day Eastern Caribbean getaway round-trip from Fort Lauderdale on Ruby Princess starting at $229 per person with balcony cabins at $399.

A seven-day Mexico round-trip cruise on Sapphire Princess starts at $549.

A 15-day Hawaiian island round-trip cruise from San Francisco starts at $1109 or $1749.

A three-day getaway from Los Angeles on Sapphire Princess that only stops in Ensenada has balcony cabins at $299 and mini-suites at $359

Royal Caribbean

The Royal Caribbean headline says, “IT'S YOUR WOW, YOUR WAY!”
