Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Conquest
by Rick Windhorst
Cruise to Nowhere
November 22, 2002

I just got back from a one night stay courtesy of a United Way charity event on the brand new Carnival Conquest and there is only one word to descibe it. AWESOME! The ship is a technological and engineering marvel. From the moment you enter the nine story atrium (aka Artists Lobby) with it's glass enclosed elevators rising up to the roof, you realize this is not just another ship. The ship is huge, but you never get the feeling that it is. You feel more like you are in the Forum shops at Ceasars Palace. Every restaurant, lounge, shop, just lead from one to another.

They have two pools and the pool on the top deck has a stage right in front. The deck lounge chairs are arranged in stadium seating which is a nice touch. The huge water slide is perched on top of the ship, very cool. Now like I said, I was only on one night but I am going back to cruise over Thanksgiving weekend so I'll post more. Then I'll be able to give you more info on the casino, entertainment and the food. On our over nighter the food was really good, but we mostly ate at Restaurant Cezanne which is buffet, but really tasty. I'm looking forward to trying the sushi and the seafood from Sur Mer. Ok, More when I return!
