Carnival Conquest

First off I would like to say the Carnival
Conquest was quite an AMAZING ship! We sailed to
Jamaica, Grand Cayman and then to Cozumel.
The art decor inside the ship was of classic
Italian flavor and the colors made you feel as
rich as the carpet you walked on. There were
shops, glass elevators and casinos that made you
forget you were floating in the deep caribbean!
It was a floating hotel! Very beautiful!!!!
We went down to our cabin (I heard the lower you
go, the less rocky...its true) and for being on
the main floor...our room was comfortable,
spacious and cool (LITERALLY)! If you think you
can sleep in some undies or a T-shirt....think
again! You better bring a parka and some flannel
pajamas or you are going to leave the ship sick as
a dog or with frozen buns! I know they are trying
to keep people from getting sick, (keeping it so
cold) but c'mon, it was too darn cold inside and
when it was cold outside...you were outta luck!
You do have a control in your room, but it doesn't
control a thing.
I was also disappointed in our food... especially
our Renoir dining server, David. (the other
servers who randomly served you during all seating
lunches...etc....were FABULOUS!)

But we did not look forward to our nightly routine
with David. It wasn't just one day or two. It was
poor waiting service the entire 7 days we were in
our dining room. Maybe he was new serving
GUESTS? If that is the case...RETRAIN! I know he
works hard for months at a time....I give him
credit for that, but heck, David finally decided
to pop a personality pill the last day we sat in
his section. GO DAVID!!! Oh, and you had to PAY to
get the BETTER food (we heard) in one of the
ship's "private" restaurants. What's up with that?
We didn't cruise to EAT, but hey...the food is
what you hear most about.
The shows...the activities and the entertainment
were good. The dancers were like being in Las
Vegas and the comedians aboard made me laugh until
I about wet myself. THANKS COREY!
The shore excursions ROCKED and I highly recommend
the Dolphin excursion! (You DO get to swim with
them in Cozumel!) Its magical!
Other than that, I think this ship is one of the
most beautiful out there. The ride was smooth,
(some shaky moments) but for being as nervous as I
was for being out in the middle of the caribbean I
was in heaven and it was more fabulous than I
could have ever imagined! I am glad it was my
first taste of what cruising is all about and I
will definitely go on another Carnival Cruise
again!
