Carnival Legend
by George Woolley
Baltic Sea
September 5, 2002

Cruising on the Legend seemed to be a good experience...if you're pretty old, and/or obese. There was lots of food, though none of it was very good; an amazing number of dishes were oversalted.

Nothing on this ship happens at the advertized time, though most events did start within 10 minutes of their advertized time. The entertainment was embarrassing. And the Cruise Director did an on-ship tv show, with his assistant, that bordered on sado/masochistic.

It included spraying foam in the assistant's face. Disembarkation in New York was particularly tedious; some friends who had ordered a bus transfer were left without a bus...it only took me two hours to be 'called' to leave.

It's hard to find anything to recommend this ship. Even the interior design was tacky.
