Nantucket Clipper

My wife and I sailed with the Nantucket Clipper, for a Saint Lawrence River
cruise of seven days, 8-9-2003 to 8-16-2003. It was our second cruise with Clipper
Cruise Line, and Tauck World Discovery.
We boarded in Rochester, New York, after meeting our tour guide, Denise, at
the airport, and taking the provided shuttle to the ship. The cabin was very nice,
and while compact, was quite comfortable. The climate control was particularly
good, even though the weather was hot and humid, I was able to keep our cabin
as cool as I wanted. We were on the lounge deck, portside, just aft of the transverse.
The ship is small, just 100 passengers, and all cabins are outside. The accommodations
are first-rate throughout, and the staff and crew are as attentive and helpful
as you could want. They are all American, friendly, and competent. I can't say
enough about the crew on this ship, they helped make the trip the great experience
that it was. Many of our fellow passengers were repeat travelers with Clipper,
one couple had made over 50 trips in the last 20 years.

Over the course of our week-long cruise, we visited Kingston, The Thousand
Islands, Prescott, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City. We had a historian on board,
to provide information and background about the parts of Canada we were visiting.
The shore excursions were great, and very well organized. The pace was perfect,
never rushed, and our time was well spent. At week's end, we were in Quebec City,
and were shuttled to the airport for our flight home.
The ship was comfortable, the food was wonderful, the crew outstanding, and
the scenery beautiful. The only possible complaint I could make would be about
the weather, which was hot and humid the whole time, but certainly no fault of
the cruise line. I can recommend the ship, the itinerary, and Tauck to anyone
who would like to try a "small-ship" cruise of this sort, and I am happy
