Norwegian Cruise Line

Pride of Aloha
by Bob Rowan
Hawaii
August 1, 2004

I just returned from the POA and it was a nightmare. Cabins too small, sheets stained, beach towels stained, food cold, long waits at the buffet...I could go on and on. We complained about the stained sheets so many times the Stateroom supervisor had to come with a stack of sheets and go through them one at a time to find clean ones. We finally went to WalMart and bought our own. We gave up the dinning rooms because the waits were too long even though half the tables were empty. They were short 250+ crew so nobody was around to serve meals.

Each port temps were hired to help for the day. At the buffet the food was cold, fountain drinks did not work, and by the end of the week we were given paper plates, a fork, and a soup spoon (they were out of knives) at the buffet for breakfast. Tables were filled with dirty trays of food, we had to "bus" tables to have a place to eat. The crew is miserable and overwhelmed....all our complaints fell on deaf ears. We even called the corporate office from the ship and they were no help either. I couldn't even enjoy the people on the ship because everyone was in a bad mood. This was the most stressful vacation I have ever had.
