Just returned from a 12 day Fall Colors cruise aboard the new Norweigan Sun...and submit a caution to those considering her.
We found the "Freestyle Cruising" concept not to work, at least on this cruise. The food aboard was uninspiring in menu, served cool to cold, and took up to 2 hours from order to finish! The optional dining rooms were good, but the surcharge fee is annoying.
Do not expect quality dining or service.
On the other hand, the staterooms are outstanding. Ours, with balcony, was large, attractive, lots of storage, and kept clean as a whistle.

In fairness, on this our 12th cruise we should have known we don't like large capacity ships and the long lines and poorer service they include by nature. We again believe you get what you pay for, and while the price of the cruise was very low, we got what we paid for.
