For many, their first cruise ship impression is a short, three or four-day cruise on the oldest ships sailing. This includes a non-balcony cabin, dated decor, limited dining arrangements and smaller scale entertainment.

For dining, try any one of seven different restaurants including Cagneys and Le Bistro, two popular NCL eateries that carry a reasonable service charge. Every restaurant, including the no-extra charge dining room, offers a lobster dinner during the cruise.

For entertainment, there are nine signature bars and lounges including a martini bar; a sports bar; a champagne bar; two outdoor bars and the "Dazzles Bar & Night Club."

The ship has the best in balcony, oceanview and inside staterooms including mini-bars, the new Bliss Collection bedding, Elemis luxury bathroom amenities and a new, expanded room service menu.

Each cruise presents two productions in the Stardust Theater. Three bands play each evening and guests can party until the wee hours at two new themed clubs: White Hot Night, the "ultimate dance party at sea set in a wonderland of white"; and Monte Carlo Night, a sizzling casino party with the "glitz and glam" of the French Riviera.

Kids have plenty to do as well, with splash pools, waterfalls and hot tubs just for kids. Teen discos with video games, foosball and more are also available day and night.
