This Blog Is A Breeze

Written by: Kuki

When this Blog is posted on Wednesday morning I’ll hopefully be on board the Carnival Breeze in Barcelona, Spain, about to begin a 12 day cruise through the western Mediterranean.

I’ll have endured a 14 hour travel day, ensconced in a metal cigar tube (they call an airplane).

I probably would been stuck in a slow moving check in line at the airport, and barely have made it to my departure gate in time - thanks to having to be frisked be security personnel, because in my rush, I forget to take off my shoes.

In all likelihood I ordered the  “apparently beef” rather than the “probably chicken” for dinner.

Upon arrival in Barcelona I’ll probably have been held up at customs and immigration for an interview –  with startling questions about my purpose in coming to Spain with only a carry-on bag; all because my luggage went to Cairo by mistake.

But, by the time you’re reading this I should have temporarily put out of my mind the fact I have no luggage, after I’ve had at least 2 Guy Fieri hamburgers, and my first dinner in the Dining Room on the Carnival Breeze.

For the next 12 days I’ll be writing daily stories live from the ship, talking about the ship and all the amenities she has available to her passengers, as well as information on our ports of call and descriptions of tours I do; perhaps with some recommendations.

Below, I’ve posted our itinerary on this voyage.

I haven’t been to Marseilles since my “gap year” in 1972, when I was back-packing my through Europe, and Messina will be a entirely new port visit for me.

Though Mrs. Kuki won’t be sailing with me on this voyage, there happens to be a CruiseMates’ Group on this sailing, so aside from covering the ship, I’ll have a built in cure for my loneliness with a great bunch of people from CruiseMates to entertain me.

I don’t have a good record of “smooth sailing” when I don’t have Mrs. Kuki by my side to organize my life, and point me in the right direction, so there may be some situations, though possibly entertaining to you, won’t be so funny to me. Hopefully, this voyage won’t be too stormy; just a light Breeze.

If anyone has any questions about the ship while I’m reporting from it, feel free to ask in the Virtual Cruise thread. Answering them should be a breeze (are you tired of all the puns yet).

So, I invite you to stop by daily for up to date “tales from the sea” with …
