I just got back from Port Canaveral. Premier (Big Red Boat) was the first legitmate cruise line (not a gambling soiree) to use Port Canaveral full-time. Good old Bruce Nierenberg was the president of the cruise line and was the first to ever think of using Port Canaveral for a cruise ship port - figured he would get the drive market and he was right.
