I agree, no cabin is close to everything, but mid section cabins on decks about 5-7 will give you the best of everything. We just got off PRincess, we were on the Plaza Deck, slightly forward, but very close to mid ship. Except for a couple of early morning engine noises we couldn't have been in a better location. We were near the purser, just a short walk for a couple of restaurants, one level below the casino and shops, plus one level below the first level of the showroom. We have had similar locations before and low them. On the Amsterdam we were as far aft as you can get. Yes, we heard more noise and had a longer hike, but it too was nice. It was very quiet, the cabin was a little larger and we had a great view.
