This is a topic that I also find fascinating and I am usually the one to remind people of this when they are traveling abroad.

Europe, however, enjoys a completely different weather pattern than we have with much less of their weather coming from the polar regions than ours does.

The continent gets often gets trade winds that are milder than ours for the same lattitudes, especially in southern Europe. So, while Rome is farther North than NYC, it is drier and hotter than NYC. It just shows that Lattitude alone is not an indicator of climate.

not sure what this has to do with Holland America, though. Would be better to post this in chit chat. Thanks!
