Rich people often like to be as far away from the crew as possible. It's a tradition that stems back more than 100 years. Poor people and the crew were lower on the ship and the rich people were closer to the top. Most people that take Carnival cruises are middle class but because of this tradition they can still charge more to be higher on the ship, it's about making money.
