Quite possible. In fact, when a cruise ship shows up, it goes to the front of the line...ahead of any non-passenger ships that may have been waiting for a day or more.

Of course, they pay for the privilege. Last time we were at the Canal (2005 - non-transit), the highest fee ever paid to date was by the Coral Princess...$250,000. to transit the canal.

At that time, the average ship was paying about $55,000.00.
