I remember a few years ago there was a documentary on TV for about 8 weeks following the Picton Castle on it's round the world journey and was joined on board by a journalist named Andrew Younghusband from Canada.
The documentary showed all aspects of life on board the Picton Castle, some good and some not so good and some downright bad. However, having said that most aboard looked like they were enjoying the life and were learning a lot from the then Captain, whom I believe is still the Captain.

The unfortunate loss of Laura Gainey did put a damper on the ship but as they say, "stuff" happens.
