You would have to search, either on here or on the cruiselines website, for the official dress code for formal/elegant night..
It sounds to me like the pants and shirt/tie would be ok. I don't think a jacket is absolutelyy required.
If for whatever reason you cannot get into the main dining, they may deliver the same meal to your cabin as room service, but that would require a nominal tip to the porter.
