KAT - the beans I'm talking about are acres of soy beans - we have over 200 acres that we farm. Plus have a garden spot at the house that keeps me from having to go to the store for the veggies for quite some time.
Both DH and I can and freeze what we grow. We make our own salsa, and we freeze/or can all the other stuff and eat fresh veggies as much as possible. It's really nice to have a big garden, in fact this weekend I'm going to be canning beets.
The recipe you posted sounds wonderful, I'm going to have to try it!!
