Default Grand Palaces

When I was a kid, we had the most beautiful movie palace. This was where, on a Saturday afternoon, we could watch a double feature, and about 10 cartoons, all for a dollar or so.

The name of the theatre was the Oriental, and it had features you would never see today.

The foyer was so grand with fabulous movie posters...The ceiling had stars in the sky, with clouds that rolled by.
There were buddahs over the exit doors that had eyes that lit up.
The rest rooms had gigantic Oriental urns and large black laquor makeup areas with huge mirrors. Everything, back then seemed so over the top, and glamorous!

Going to the movies back then was part of our innocent childhood, and parents sent us without a care, for a full day of fun.

Did you have a grand theatre in your area?
