The cruise industry knows that most people, especially Americans, will not sacrifice a vacation. We work too hard for them. We are one of the few industrialized nations where most people only take only two weeks off or less every year. I know many people these days who do not even take that much off.

For that reason most people will still spend for a vacation because they consider ot to be a necessity more so than a luxury.

I can agree with that, as long as it is in the budget.
