I had no trouble drinking with Bonine (I've only taken it once). Bonine didn't make me sleepy, but did make my mouth dry.
My son suffers from a bit of seasickness and Bonine works like a charm for him, without any side effects at all.
Why don't you try taking a whole pill before your cruise just to see how it effects you?
