Default Using travel coffee makers on board ship

The coffee served by the cruise lines is made from coffee syrup and is almost as nasty as the powered crud sold in the grocery. So, I would like to take along a small travel type coffee maker or a small 4 cupper. I'm wondering, though, about electrical overload as these units are generally 600-700 watts. I really would hate to cause any damage to the ship or inconvenience to my fellow cruisers.

Looking forward to any and all advice, alternatives, etc.

Thanks,

Bob
