I always recommend people ADD that cost into their budgets before they even book. If the total, including the extras for the alternate restaurants, isn't still a great price, don't book it.

I actually find NCL's base prices are generally lower than other mass market lines, which allows the room to budget for the alternate restaurants.

Frankly I feel that if you're not using NCLs alternate restaurants you're not taking advantage of all NCL has to offer. To me that's what's so good about NCL - 10 different restaurants, with different menus, and different specialties. Wide varieties and choices.
