Happy Monday Debbye,
Wow--we sure had a great weekend in Houston.

But today it is so rainy and gloomy!

We had a busy weekend with some unexpected company. We had a great time, but just didn't get a few "to do" things accomplished. But that's okay.
I guess your sister is going to have a really great birthday this year. Your plans to dine at The Point sound nice. We are not celebrating anything, but just being on the cruise is a reason for me to celebrate.
I will keep searching for available hotel possibilities with parking, but it's not looking so good. Also, if you do end up coming in the day of the cruise, are you aware that you can pre-register/pay for parking and get a small discount?
Your damage doesn't sound so minor. So sorry about your roof and carpeting. How are the repairs coming along? A lot of homes and businesses particularly those on the Seabrook waterfront sustained significant damage. It is slowly getting back to normal, but it will take time to rebuild. We were so lucky in our subdivision. Minor damage for everyone. Our neighbor lost a good portion of their roof, and it ended up in our swimming pool. We also had a lot of tree limbs that were broken. I just feel bad for those that have totally lost their homes out here. When I first saw the damage to the homes and businesses along the waterfront, it made me cry. My neighbor counted 22 homes that are completely gone. We were without water and power for almost 4 weeks, but it worked out okay since my husband had previous business trips planned. I had already planned on going with him anyway.
You asked about dinner plans...we really enjoy booking the really late dining time like 8:15 or 8:30. It just seems to give us more time especially if we are taking shore excursions, etc. We both enjoy the sit down dinner every evening instead of a buffet line. However, when our sons have cruised with us, they also like to mix it up. I think Jim and I just like the choices better that are offered in the dining room. But I can always find something I like no matter where we are eating.
You also asked about the breakfast times on the Conquest. I pulled my "Carnival Capers" from September 7, 2007. On sea days it looks like a Continental Breakfast is offered on Lido Deck beginning at 6:30 a.m. Then at 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. there is a Breakfast Buffet on Lido Deck. If you prefer to eat in the Monet Dining Room for Breakfast there is open seating from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Also, there is a note that breakfast is served until noon from "the forward service lines near the main pool, Midship." You can also order breakfast from room service at no charge...just a few bucks tip to the room service waiter. On days the ship is in port, the schedule has slight changes such as Continental Breakfast at 6 a.m. and Open Seating in the Monet from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. I would advise you to check the "Carnival Capers" each day for any change in the schedules.
For lunch the Conquest, offers lots of great choices on Lido Deck 9. You can enjoy Oriental from P.C.'s Wok, Fresh Sandwiches from the Deli, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Veggie Burgers, etc. from the Grille, the Buffet Lines in the Cezanne Restaurant on Lido Deck offer a large selection for lunch including a salad and dessert bar area. You can get seafood from Sur Mer located on the upper level of the Lido Restaurant. There is also the Pizzeria which offers a few items in addition to pizza. There is probably something I have forgotten, but finding food is never a problem for us There are too many choices! Oh, I love the soft serve yogurt and ice cream

.
Someone is ringing door bell...gotta go will catch you later.
