We have heard so many mixed reviews about the ship.
one thing I would certainly do is whale watching, they should be about down to Mexico about now. We did a cruise last Jan and it was the highlight of the cruise.

yes, there are mixed reviews on the Star, I will say, it isn't my favorite NCL ship, but there is not a thing wrong with it, the ship is clean, the crew friendly like all NCL ships and you have so many dining options.

Our favorite, when there was no sur charge was Endless Summer. As for the main dining room, the smaller one (I can't remember which it is) has much better service.

Be sure and try Fish and Chips or buffalo wings (maybe both) in Blue Lagoon. OK, you are from UK, you are accustom to real Fish and Chips, but these are close.

Most important, go with an open mind and expect to have a good time, that is the secret to happy vacationing no matter where you are. nit picking will do nothing but put a damper on your holiday, over-looking stupid little issues will create a great cruise.
