"Self Assist" means you do not put bags outside of your cabin the last night of the cruise, but you MUST be able to carry off ALL of your possessions.

Those ships using "self assist" normally begin between 7:30 and 8:30 AM.... and is allowed for perhaps 45 minutes. You SHOULD be prepared when called for self assist, because once they begin the regular disembark, those dragging all of their luggage does create problems.
