As a poster has reported, Altun Ha is close to 90 minutes away from the cruise terminal and the so called highways are not quite so good. Especially the "old" North Highway. A 4x4 truck would make it, but most cars wound have to have damn good shock absorbers to make it, either that or drive really slow!!!

A personal guided tour is great, but the group tours are good and the guides do give you a lot of info AND will answer your questions. You are not rushed from one site to another, unless it is like 45C in the sun with 85% plus humidity they may find a nice piece of shade to hide under and do some more explaining.....

You can make your trip all about the ruins--Tulum in Cozumel and Altun Ha/Xunantunich in Belize.

The Valor was good. I hated the decor, I am Canadian so I don't like everything american from the floor tiles to the liberty bells on the walls...The cruise was fun, the food was good, the sun was out, and a good time was had....

1991 Holiday
2007 Victory & Triumph
2008 Conquest & Liberty
2009 Valor, Freedom, and Splendor
2010 Glory and Liberty
2011 Glory

I gotta go where it's warm.....

Over 40 victim of fate.....
