there are all types of "theme/group" cruises which often do not cost anymore then a "normal' cruise..it's just a group of cruisers with a common interest that ban together as a group to get a lower rate and have some specific onboard activities (chess, book clubs etc)
another suggestion, this board often sponsors group cruises and you might join one of the upcoming voyages and save $$$$$$ and hang out with lots of nice, supportive folks
