We have had to "check in" for every Muster Drill we have ever taken. I can't think of one time that they did not check off our cabin number.

The only one we missed was once when Puerto Rico was the Port of Debarkation. We were out shopping (I think the ship left port at 10PM or something like that) and came back to the ship around 5PM only to find out they had done the drill at 4PM. That seemed so silly to us - half the people had not even arrived in Puerto Rico yet!! That was on NCL...a long time ago.
