I would not worry though. The Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act(HR 874/S 428) looks like it will pass by the end of this session, though it may possibly have to be restarted for the next congressional session. At last check it has 181 supporters in the House and 32 in the Senate. The main concern is if it will get out of committee or not. I can tell you that the entire travel industry is lobbying for it. Right now, I know ASTA(American Society of Travel Agents), NTOA(National Tour Operators Association), NTA(National Tour Association), and CLIA(Cruise Lines International Association) are all lobbying for it. In addition to this, it is also supported by human rights groups. This is the third time this legislation has been to committee, and the last time the Anti-Cuban lobby shot it down. Maybe this time will be different.
