Ok, story on Destiny-Inspiration was that the tip of the Destiny's bow touched the back of the Inspiration coming into port in Cozumel on Saturday. No damage, just some noise and no reports were filed according to a staff officer onboard the Navigator of the Seas.
Cozumel has had a lot of problems with "fender benders" lately. Port officials told us that because of the unusually bad weather, they've had a very hard time getting ships in and out of port without incident, especially in the downtown port which is frequented by HAL, NCL and the occasional Carnival vessel.
20' seas, 50 knot winds and mid-40 temperatures made our last 2 days a bit of a nightmare. It was also the first time I had heard the captain of a vessel make such blatant announcements regarding weather-safety issues; warning guests to take Dramamine, wear flat shoes and avoid skirts and dresses at all costs. The final day waves were washing up close to and over the 4th deck outer perimeter and the ship did some SERIOUS rocking (uncommonly violent for a Voyager class vessel).
