I often wonder what ever became of common sense? Indeed crime happens everywhere, even on vacation. Precautions must be followed while on ANY type of vacation. Years ago I read a post about island XYZ being unsafe and crime infested. The poster rented a Jeep to tour the island. They parked the Jeep near the lighthouse and walked to the beach. A lowlife reached into the open windows of the vehicle and stole personal belongings.

My local paper is full of crime reports of valuables being stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Just a little common sense would go a long ways to prevent this type of crime from happening.
I guess personal responsibility is a thing of the past.
I live in Florida. Does the state need to post signs every 50 feet on the beach stating there are sharks living in the ocean and sometimes they like to bite people? :o
