Interesting qualification. Smoking is the social equivalent of blasting your hotel TV in the middle of the night or passing gas in an elevator or cutting in line. Yes, it is your personal right to do it and not illegal. But it isn't socially acceptable.

However, since smoking cigarettes does involve ingesting a powerful, brain-altering, and highly addictive chemical, there are some different dynamics at play.
