Port of Miami and many other ports now give cruisers the opportunity to check their baggage for their flights right at the peir when they disembark. However, if you arrive at the airport early enough and have not already checked your baggage, then the airline counter personnel have the option of putting you and your baggage on the earlier flight IF seats are available.
Thanks for clarifying that! We always use the Luggage Valet service if it's offered, so that's why we couldn't take the earlier flight. We thought it was strange, but now it makes sense
