I agree that most of the crew are "playing" nice, and that's okay. It happens every day in the real world.
On our last cruise we had a wonderful Room Steward who had been with Princess for years. We didn't expect to become "friends for life", but he was very efficient and friendly, always opened the door for me when he was in the hallway, and joined us on our balcony to watch the "latecomers" run for the ship! He had just the right "friendliness quotient"
