Hi everyone. I need to get over to England, specifically Southampton, in June for an exam. With all the volcano madness and uncertainty with air travel lately, I thought, what better way than travel in style aboard the Queen Mary 2? I've always wanted to go transatlantic on an ocean liner in some sort of nostalgic tribute to the golden age of ocean travel.
The thing is, I'm a 28 year old single male traveller. While I don't really mind paying Cunard's big single supplement (about $600), I'm curious about how I can fit in with a majority of passengers who are married and much older than myself (Not to mention the massive income gap).
Is it common to see younger singles on transatlantic trips? Is it easy to meet people on board? What about the dining arrangments? I guess I just wanted to see if I was going to be the only young guy aboard a ship filled with older couples and honeymooners.
Thanks for your help, everyone!
