I use a Verizon Blackberry World Edition. It has CDMA and GSM. I've used a Verizon World Edition phone (previous ones were LG and Motorola) in Asia, South America, Russia, Europe and Africa with no problems.

Check your providers website to see what countries your phone will work in.

Verizon's CDMA phones work in many areas of Asia and South America but do not work in most of Europe.
