The best thing I brought was a thick headband that went over my ears. I didn't need a hat, a coat, or gloves for the ship (we went in early May). If you're going to visit a glacier you might want all of them!

Unless you're concerned about your hairstyle, I wouldn't fool with umbrella's. You'll dry !
