Don't get me wrong...I've had way more positive experiences with having people snap pics than bad...That one I mentioned before was the only 'bad' experience we had.
I often find that people that are quickest to offer are foreign tourists...especially on a recent trip to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, seems like everyone we ran into was from Europe and they would ask for us to take their picture, then offer to take ours. It was very nice.
The biggest suggestion I would have is if you don't want to take someone's photo, just say no,... thank you ...if you want your picture taken offer to take theirs in return. It's common courtesy.
