Not being American I have a different view of tips, but we just give what is recommended. I don't see why anyone would want to remove tips, after all isn't the American theory that we all must tip as the staff get virtually no wages? Auto/charged tips are best for us, we find the whole handing over of envelopes a bit embarassing & even patronising in a "here you are my good man" sort of way.
