Welcome to the forum Holly,
I'm certainly not an experienced cruiser, but if you can afford it, it might be worth it to go with an organized singles group unless you like hanging out with couples and older, single-again people, especially on HAL and even Celebrity. My Celebrity cruise was with an organized singles group of about 28. A few of the women were rooming with girlfriends they had met on earlier singles cruises. I roomed with our tour leader but about 1/3 still roomed alone. If you do happen to find a compatable roommate that you can go to dinner with, it makes it easier to meet others also as you won't be the 3rd wheel.
