If you keep the 3G/wireless turned off, it can last up to a month on a charge. I turn mine on every so often for a few minutes to download new books, and mine lasts a little over 3 weeks.
That brings up one thing I don't like as well with the new Kindles, though.....you have to press the Menu button to see how much of a charge you have left. The older ones showed the battery icon all the time. But I wouldn't trade this new one for anything!
