My first cruise was an inside cabin because my travelmate was cheap. I survived, but I always had a difficult time waking up without some natural light coming in. Maybe if they had an alarm clock light or something that might help. My 2nd cruise was OV, and that was wonderful. I was up and at'em pretty easily every day. On a longer voyage with more at sea days, I could see where I might enjoy a balcony cabin, but just being there is most of the fun.
