I'm certainly no expert, but even with that law on the books, if you can find someone who's recently been jailed for simple possession I would be shocked.

All I am saying is that marijauna laws are most certainly not the cause of overcrowding in jails.

I'd even venture a guess that even though it takes many more infractions before any of them go to jail, there are likely many more people in jail for DUI convictions, than those there serving sentances for simple possession of pot.

If you think it a good idea to have more people behind the wheel of their cars under the influence of anything, so be it. There's already lots and lots inhibited by all sorts of legal prescription drugs, so in the end it won't matter. None are jailed until they kill people, and go to jail for vehicular homicide.
