When I graduated from high school, I went with three friends to Rochester, Minnesota to the Mayo Clinic to apply for a job. I got the job because they didn't hire part time. My friends were going to college in the Fall and I wasn't. College came a lot later for me. We were paid once a month and worked a half day every Saturday. That was in l956. I made a little over $100 a month.
