The taxi rate to Port Everglades is less than $10. Embassy Suites did offer free shuttle a number of years ago. Even then I opted for the taxi. The wait list for the shuttle was usually long and if you hadn't reserved your time early the previous day you had to wait until after check out time to get the shuttle.
