I was on the Emerald last year. You should fit in fine on either ship. We always take care to avoid booking during holidays and spring break in order to avoid as many children/teenagers as possible! As another poster noted, any 7 - 10 cruise will work well.

My only odd experience was on Celebrity. Unbeknownst to us, we were booked on a themed cruise. The majority of the people on the ship were there for a Mahjong tournament. Odd group but very entertaining at meals...
