Henry - here is my response:

Stay away - we will have too much traffic for people who think they are too good to come here When I lived in Florida I got tired of hearing New Yorkers talk about how much better everything was in NYC.

That said, if you want to come we have tons of experience putting on big events from races with > 200K attendees, several world and national championships and the Pan Am games. After we hosted the 2004 world short course swimming championships FINA (world governing body) asked us to host the long course championships.

Everything in downtown is nice a compact and walkable. They have created several zones downtown and in other areas in and out of town for people to gather and have a good time.

All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; John Masefield
