Alcohol based hand cleansers are effective at reducing the number of viral pathogens on human hands. Cleansing with soap and water is more effective however on cruise ships this is not always a option. Alcohol based hand sanitizer are commonly referred to as "anti-bacterial" hand cleansers but they do kill viruses. Not all hand sanitizer are created equal, try to purchase one made for the medical community not one that smells nice
Now for my opinion, I’m still cruising however these outbreaks may keep my best friend and her baby who will only be 18 months when I’m planning my next cruise from coming.
